I've read somewhere that +adressing is useless to fight abuse, because a lot of tooling removes the +part by default already, especially on scammer side. This would explain the rarity.
Coul you not just remove the +part in searches, but add a note in the result "this was found with <base-adress>+part@...".
Basically run a script over the database, to modify this way.
